Success Journal

Posted in Law of Attraction, Learning, Sharing at 9:52 am by Inge Santoso

success journal

In Millionaire Mind Intensive Seminar, T Harv Eker said that it was important to acknowledge your success. One way to acknowledge your success is by keeping a success journal.

Success journal is a special journal where you write all your successes and achievements. It is recommended to write at least five(5) successes of the day. They can be small things such as putting $1 in Financial Freedom Account Jar, waking up 30 min earlier, or they can be big things such as getting a promotion, winning prizes, and so on.

The most important thing is to keep your focus on success! Success breeds success. Success attracts more success.

The success journal can also help you when the going gets tough. It reminds you of your strength and capability to overcome challenges in your life.

Journal Writing

journal

This is a photo of my recent journals. Those are not moleskine. I wish they are.

I’ve been writing journal or diary since I was 16 years old. I started the habit when my English teacher in Perth, Judy asked me to write a diary everyday and show it to her. This was how I learned English, through writing diary. My first diary:

When I was in Beijing learning Mandarin, I also wrote my journal in Chinese. Writing a journal in Chinese really helped me to increase my vocabulary and memorize those Chinese characters.

Some benefits of journal writing for me:

  • to record, explore, and clarify my thoughts and feelings,
  • to write what I have learned from daily experiences,
  • to help me learn a new language,
  • to help me release emotional burdens,
  • to help me remember great moments in my life,
  • to explore creative ideas,
  • to weigh alternatives when making an important decision,
  • and many more

Do you keep a journal? If you do, please share your experience in the comments.

Acknowledge and celebrate your success!

The Placebo Effect

Faith can heal!

Yesterday someone at the office came to ask for some medicine. She said she had an allergic reaction to salted fish she had eaten during lunch. She said that she could feel heat and redness on her face. She was afraid that it’d spread to her whole body. Since the office did not have those kind of medicines, they had to buy it first.

When I heard her story and I saw that her face was not even that red, I told her that I might have the medicine that she needed. I went to another room and got a sugar tablet out of my mint container. I gave her the tablet and told her to take it with water straight away. I told her that it should work quite fast, and if she was still not well after an hour, then she could take the other medicine.

After an hour or so, other staff at the office told me that she was fine and she did not need to take the medicine. She said that she was feeling well after taking the pill that I gave her.

Hmmm…since she believed that the pill would work, it did! Her faith has healed her.

What a placebo effect!

It does not mean that you should not take your doctor’s advice or prescription, but it shows how faith can help you to heal better.

Most Precious Lessons about Letting Go and Abundance in My Life

Posted in Law of Attraction, Sharing at 8:05 am by Inge Santoso

Last Tuesday, before I went to Singapore Airport, I prepared S$70 (two $10 notes and one $50 note) and put them in my pocket to pay for taxi and buy some souvenirs.

When I paid for my taxi ride, I took the two $10 notes from my pocket and some more small change from my wallet, then I went inside the terminal.

When I was going to buy souvenirs, I put my hand into my pocket and suddenly I had a feeling of despair. I couldn’t find my $50 note anywhere! I searched all my pockets, my backpack and my passport wallet. I opened my wallet and counted the money…that $50 note was missing. It was nowhere to be found. My first thought: Did it fall out of my pocket when I paid the taxi? Did it fall when I walked to and from the GST refund booth?

At that time I realized that I need to change my thought and attitude because it was turning negative. I tried to console myself by thinking: Perhaps there was someone who needed the money more than me and I was just a conduit to make it happen.

At first it was hard to accept that I could’ve lost that $50 note. It was not a small amount for me. However I pressed on thinking and entertaining the thoughts that I was used by God to become a conduit to give someone who needed the money more than me. I also kept thinking that $50 was really a small amount in comparison to my net worth and it was not something that I needed to be upset about.

When I finally accepted the fact that I lost that $50 note and let go…I felt peace. By thinking that $50 was something that I could give easily because I had a lot where it came from,I had an instant boost of feeling abundance. By thinking that $50 notes could help someone in need, I felt even better.

It’s funny how things happened in life. When I fully accepted my situation, started to think positive and feel better, I continued to do my souvenir shopping. When I bought a box of chocolate for my parents and paid for it…There it was ! I found that $50 note! It was neatly folded on the side. It was so weird because I was sure that it was not there when I checked my wallet the first time. Apparently when I took some small change from my wallet paying for the cab, I folded the money and put it inside my wallet.

I was not sure what really happened that morning but I learned very important lessons:

  1. Let go, really let go and feel peace. How often do we keep on holding what we have lost? It is as though it vanishes from our physical reality and starts to exist as a burden in our mind. Why do we keep holding onto something that exists as a burden in our mind? Let it go and feel peace. Finally I understand what’s written in the Bible “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30)
  2. I also understand one more aspect of the saying “the more you give, the more you receive”. When we give with the right motivation, we will have the feeling of abundance and this feeling will attract more abundance into our lives. You feel rich by giving! The more you give, the more you feel the riches in your life and this feeling attracts even more riches.

Meeting Friends in Bookshop

Posted in Friends, Law of Attraction at 9:14 am by Inge Santoso

Yesterday while I was browsing, looking for books at Kinokuniya Singapore I met my friends from Perth, Ferdinand, Carol and their daughter. In the morning, I have had a feeling that I would meet someone that I knew and it really happened.

This was not the first time that I met them in a bookshop. In September last year, I also coincidentally met them at Borders, Perth Australia. Imagine meeting each other in different bookshops in different continent

Carol commented that we kept bumping into each other in bookshops. Perhaps it is because we all love books. HAHAHA People with the same interest tend to go the similar places.

Anyway, you have better chances meeting me in bookshops, library, computer or electronic stores than any other places. My hangout places in Singapore are Borders, Kinokuniya, Times News Links, and Funan IT Mall.

The Principle of Abundance

Posted in Law of Attraction, Sharing at 12:48 pm by Inge Santoso

Last night I had a profound insight about ABUNDANCE.

We’ve been lead to believe in scarcity, that THE PIE (wealth pie, resource pie, etc) is limited. If there are more people eating the pie, everybody will get less. The scarcity mentality believes that there isn’t enough of everything for everybody. This scarcity mentality discourages sharing and giving because if you give, you’ll have less. I used to believe in it, but my experience in the last week taught me that there is actually abundance for everybody everywhere.

Do you remember my post on May 29th, 2008 when I won vouchers from Gramedia just by sitting in front and asking question during Adi W Gunawan’s seminar? I shared my vouchers, worth Rp. 25,000 each to four teachers sitting near me. Then today I won a voucher from Sekawan worth Rp. 110,000. I used this voucher to buy three books for door prizes, so it would bless three more people.

The same amount of money Rp. 100,000 going around and around through me, has made me happy at least 9 times and enabled me to help seven people to have a book. Why happy 9 times? First time, I was happy when I won the Gramedia vouchers. Then four times when those teachers were thanking me. The sixth time when I won the Sekawan voucher. Then another three times when these people won a door prize. Total 9 times HAHAHA I believe that there will be more happiness to come.

Imagine that a simple act of asking question and sharing can start a chain reaction of blessing to so many people. Simply Awesome!

Another lesson that I learned from this – the principle "the more you give, the more you receive" is real and it is a catalyst for abundance. By sharing what I receive instead of keeping it for myself, I’ve helped to bless many people along the way. I actually received 10% more than I gave in term of money value and priceless feeling of joy, being blessed and appreciated.

Whatever blessing you have received from God, be happy to share with others…God will provide and make it grow so that there will be abundance.

Yesterday I went to Sekawan to buy three books for PMK Rhema 12th Anniversary door prize gifts. When I paid for the books, I was told that last month’s winning date was May 5th. Sekawan bookshop has a program that every month, they will draw a lottery to choose a winning date of the month and whatever you buy on that winning date, you will get 100% discount! You get a voucher that you can use before the 16th of the following month. When I got home, I went through my receipt and YES,I WON!

This morning I was so enthusiastic going back to Sekawan bookstore to get my free voucher. I used the voucher straight away because it would expire on June 16th. I bought a best seller book "Laskar Pelangi" with it.

It’s really amazing. The law of attraction is working in many aspects of my life.

Kompas Gramedia Fair Jogja 2008 – Part 1

Posted in Law of Attraction, Seminar at 8:31 am by Inge Santoso

adi gunawan

Yesterday I went to Jogja to attend Kompas Gramedia Fair. My intention was to attend Adi Gunawan’s seminar with the title "Rahasia Membuat Murid Ketagihan Belajar" (The Secret to Make Students Addicted to Learning). The seminar was FREE, sponsored by Kompas Gramedia for teachers from kindergarten to high school. It was an opportunity not to be missed!

The seminar was great. It was empowering, inspiring and entertaining. The content was very practical and could be applied straight away. The speaker, Adi W Gunawan is very professional and clearly an expert in his field. He has written 12 books and most of his books are best sellers in Indonesia. I learned a lot from this seminar.

Since I arrived quite early I decided to take the best seat in the seminar hall. The first row, right in the middle! A lot of people are uncomfortable even afraid to sit in the first row. I am grateful that I was taught to be comfortable sitting in the first row since I was 15 years old. It was my previous mentor, KG Lim and Gan Ah Seng who taught me this. The first row is the best seat because:

  • it is usually reserved for VVIPs, by choosing to sit there, you position yourself to be a VVIP – it shows self-confidence;
  • it is usually the most expensive seat;
  • it is where you can get the best view; and
  • sometimes there are special and wonderful surprises for front row seater

Voucher gramedia

Another great thing that happened to me was that by asking a question I got vouchers from Gramedia. I was so happy and I decided to share what I had received to teachers sitting next to me. I gave out a total of four vouchers because I thought they needed the voucher more than I do because I know how low a teacher’s salary can be. I am glad that I can help others to learn. I also remember what’s been written in Proverbs 11:24, "One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withhold unduly, but comes to poverty"

Yesterday I experienced the law of attraction happening in my life. First, I’ve wanted to attend Adi W Gunawan’s seminar since last month, yesterday I attended his three-hour seminar for free.  Second, I’ve been attracting money and gifts lately, yesterday I got free vouchers from Gramedia. Amazing!

Lessons:

  1. Always seek an opportunity to learn
  2. Develop a habit to sit in front
  3. Give generously
  4. Believe that the law of attraction does work

Winning Door Prizes

Posted in Law of Attraction, Seminar at 7:01 am by Inge Santoso

Tiker seminar

Yesterday I attended an investment seminar by Peni Pramono. It is sponsored by SMP PL Bintang Laut Alumni Association called PABLO as part of publication for SMP PL Bintang Laut 50th Anniversary and reunion.

I bought three tickets for my mother, my friend and myself. Our tickets’ numbers were 058, 060, and 061. When they announced the door prize winning numbers, one of the numbers is 090. At first I was disappointed because it was exactly how my ticket number would be if I put it upside down. 060 would be 090 and I would’ve won the prize so I thought. I kept covering the text “No. Tiket” and showed my number upside down to my mother and friend saying it was so close, see it’s 090. While other door prize winners were collecting their prizes, the announcer suddenly said, “Sorry, there has been a mistake. I’ve read the number upside down. The winner is 060 and not 090.” When I heard that, I jumped out of my seat with joy…Wow, I won! Yes! I won two swimming pool vouchers at Agas Hotel. I was so happy not because of the prize but because I won something. I gave my door prize to my friend because she’d be happy to take her children swimming. I gave 058 to my friend and she also won a door prize, two mugs from Bank Danamon.

It was amazing how we won two out of three tickets. I’ve been winning door prizes quite often lately. In the last seminar that I attended, I won a camera and before that a polo shirt. I think it is the law of attraction at work. The more I believe in winning, the more I win.

Lessons:

1. The law of attraction does work. Ask, believe and have faith that God has a wonderful plan for all of us.

2. Keep believing even when the situation is not as what you had hoped, the situation may turn in an unexpected way and you may still receive what you wish for…sometimes even better than what you had hoped for.

3. When you receive it, be grateful, say thank you and express your appreciation.
